Minimally Invasive
Performed through only an 8–10 mm incision. Surrounding muscles and tissues are not damaged, and the risk of scar tissue is minimal.
The platform where patient education and international surgeon training in endoscopic spine surgery come together under one roof.
Istanbul Endoscopic Spine Academy (IESA) is an international academic platform established to educate patients about endoscopic spine surgery and to provide advanced training to surgeons worldwide.
The founder and chief instructor of the academy, Op. Dr. Tunc Koc, is one of Turkey's leading names in endoscopic spine surgery with over 15 years of experience. Under the IESA umbrella, current treatment methods are shared while hands-on courses, live surgery observations and fellowship programs are organized for surgeons.
With workshops and training programs attended by hundreds of surgeons from more than 30 countries to date, IESA plays a key role in the global advancement of endoscopic spine surgery.
Learn MoreA modern spinal treatment method performed with smaller incisions, less pain and a much faster recovery compared to traditional open surgery.
Performed through only an 8–10 mm incision. Surrounding muscles and tissues are not damaged, and the risk of scar tissue is minimal.
Most patients are discharged the same day or the next day. Return to work and social life is much faster compared to open surgery.
In experienced hands, success rates exceed 90%. Performed with millimetric precision under camera guidance.

Lumbar disc herniation is a condition caused by a disc pressing on a nerve root, resulting in pain, numbness and weakness. With the endoscopic method, the herniated fragment is removed under camera guidance through just an 8 mm incision. Same-day discharge is possible.
Learn more →Cervical disc herniation causes radiating arm pain, tingling and weakness. With endoscopic posterior cervical foraminotomy, the herniated disc compressing the nerve is removed using a minimally invasive technique without cutting the neck muscles.
Learn more →Narrowing of the spinal canal causes radiating leg pain and difficulty walking. With endoscopic decompression, the narrowed canal is widened; implants such as screws or bone are usually not required.
Learn more →This condition occurs when one lumbar vertebra slips over another, causing pain and nerve compression. The endoscopic method reduces the pressure; in suitable cases it can be treated without large open surgery.
Learn more →A minimally invasive procedure applied in early-stage disc diseases that do not require herniation surgery. A special instrument inserted into the disc reduces the nucleus pulposus tissue to relieve nerve pressure.
Learn more →Applied in facet joint pain and chronic low back pain caused by degeneration, this method uses radiofrequency waves to deactivate the nerve endings that carry pain signals. Its effect can last for months or even years.
