We put the most critical techniques and complex case scenarios in endoscopic spine surgery on the table together with IESA faculty and global authorities. In this intensive 1-day programme, limited to 30–50 participants, we move beyond standard approaches to focus on surgical "pearls", video-based in-depth analyses and interactive complication management discussions. Rather than basic knowledge transfer, we aim for a high-level peer-to-peer exchange of expertise.
The four main sessions of the day span a broad academic spectrum — from theoretical deep-dives and live surgical demonstrations to complication analyses and participant case consultations.
Overview of the session's focus technique, the latest literature data and comparative technical analysis.
Live broadcast from the operating theatre. Real-time delivery of technical steps and surgical strategy through a selected complex case. An interactive viewing experience where participants can ask the surgeon direct questions.
When things don't go to plan: discussion of "crisis management" and "rescue manoeuvres" through real complication videos selected from the IESA archive.
Interactive consultation of challenging cases brought by surgeons from their own clinics. A solution-oriented academic exchange where IESA faculty and participants reason through problems together.
Each MasterClass session focuses on a specific area of endoscopic surgery. The titles below represent examples from the curriculum that has been covered.
Transforaminal EndoscopyModification strategies for the transforaminal approach in challenging cases.
Interlaminar EndoscopyLigamentum flavum splitting technique and decompression applications in spinal stenosis cases.
Uniportal & Biportal UBEComparative analysis of single- and dual-portal techniques, selection of the optimal endoscopic approach for each case, and combined surgical strategies.
Complication ManagementApproach to durotomy, vascular injury and neurological complications in endoscopic surgery; prevention strategies and rescue manoeuvres for revision surgery.
Endoscopic RFAEndoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation applications in facet joint pain. Advantages of nerve blockade under direct visualisation and case-based technical details.
Endoscopic NucleoplastyMinimally invasive intradiscal pressure reduction. Clinical outcomes and case analyses of the innovative image-guided endoscopic nucleoplasty technique.
